David Spencer

Josh Ryan

David Spencer has been a member of Othello First Baptist Church since 2010. During this time he has served as a Sunday School Teacher, a Deacon, Chairman of the Deacon Board, and developed and led our Youth PACK Program. Recently David has been filling the Pulpit as we search for a Senior Pastor and has been the lead teacher in our Wednesday night Sunago meetings. On Sunday December 8th, 2019 David, and his family, was called and accepted the position of Administrative and Youth Pastor for Othello First Baptist Church. He now serves as one of the two Pastors for Othello First Baptist and handles much of the teaching and preaching.

Josh Ryan, and his family, have been attending Othello First Baptist Church since 2015. Josh and his wife Sarah are missionaries to the Mixtec people who are an indigenous people group from Mexico. Othello has one of the largest Mixtec populations outside of Mexico. The Ryan’s ministry is focusing on developing Mixtec Christians with the long term goal to training indigenous pastors to return to Mexico and start churches. In February of 2020 Josh, and his family, was called to be the Missions Pastor for Othello First Baptist. Josh shares preaching duties and in conjunction with Othello FBC is able to translate messages into Spanish to support his Mixtec ministry.

Sarah Spencer serves the body as our part-time church secretary and handles mailings, bulletin creation, as well as creating the worship PowerPoint for Sunday Mornings. Sarah is a full time special education teacher at Othello High School working with Lifeskills students.

Dawn serves the body as our part-time church custodian and keeps the facilities clean and stocked. Dawn is a mom, homeschool teacher, and a Bus Driver for the the Othello school district.

The deacon board at FBC helps to administer the church through leadership in conjunction with the pastor. These men are nominated by the church and elected through a church vote. They must meet the requirements of leadership found in 1 Timothy, Titus, and 1 Peter and are to act as leaders of the church following Christ’s example.
